Are there any sites or learning materials to learning Swiss German? I know it makes much more sense to learn standard German but there's just something about Switzerland that I love and I'm learning this for fun so I'm not really concerned with learning the best "variation".

Pimsleur has a Swiss-German course, at least through Conversational Level. Assimil has a pocket guide (but not a course). I believe these both teach a standardized form of Swiss-German. From what I understand, though, in real life Swiss German is actually a continuum of Alemannic dialects.

To see what Alemmanic looks like, you should check out the wikipedia articles. Assuming you have a little German, you'll find them vaguely familiar in places and utterly incomprehensible in others.

When I saw the Pimsleur version I was really excited, but unfortunately it's only 10
lessons. Should you learn standard German first, I'm sure there'd be a lot more resources
available to you. Good luck with your search, Schwyzerdütsch sounds awesome.

In the German speaking cantons they do learn standard German in school. So you could always learn standard German and later on go to Switzerland and make the necessary alterations there. Even if you never end up learn Swiss German you'll still be understood as their standard German is excellent, or so I hear :)

Pimsleur doesn't seem too useful, it's too short. I would try something mentioned here, especially:
Züritüütsch isch aifach schön
Die Schweizermacher
Hoi: Your Swiss German Survival Guide

I haven't used any of them, but that's what I plan to get when I finally start learning Swiss German (I too want to do it just for fun, since Switzerland is one of my favourite countries).
