So did Rachel Dywer mean that they're going to improve on the Colloquial Gujarati book with a new edition? If so, should I wait until then to buy the book (when will it be out)?
In the meantime, would you recommend the TY Gujarati or the Colloquial Gujarati? What are the pros and cons of each? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I have been trying to learn Gujarati also for a couple of months now. I have posted on here before. Maybe you could get your wife to come here and help out a bit since we have no native Gujarati speakers here. With exams, My gujarati study has fallen by the wayside a bit, but now I'm ready to pick this back up. I've acquired
the Lambert course and it looks very solid, as the professor promised. I've learned to read, write, and type the Gujarati script. Now, I plan to use Rachel Dwyer's book in tandem with Lambert's course. Please keep checking back, as I will be updating this much more frequently now that I can devote time to truly active study. Also, for anyone interested, I've taken the audio found on RD's site and broken it up by chapter for the book instead of one continuous stream. Hi--I know nothing about Gujju--I learn Bengali--but you can meet and exchange w/ Gujaratis on livemocha.com. They don't have places for posting--you just search for people and exchange with them. They have LOTS of Deshis! You can also see who is active and what they have done, which is good. 1 person has voted this message useful |
