Hey Sabotai,
Sounds like you have been collecting alot of material and ordering from amazon a lot. Your mailman is probably starting to not like you right now. Oh well! That book that you mentioned Japanese sentence patters is it any good? I see you just started on it but I have not seen any reviews on that book for Japanese as of yet. I will start collecting my material for that language soon.

Shadow,
I would definitely recommend Japanese Sentence Patterns for Effective Communication. It's very thorough in the kinds of sentence patterns it goes over. And the examples are constantly reinforcing previous patterns and vocab (although I'm not worried about remembering the vocab right now). So far I really like it.

If you would like to add to your resources, LingQ.com is a great site! I'm using it for my Spanish. They give you texts with audio. You are then able to highlight words you don't know, "link" them, and review them later. I would check it out if you want to. They offer both Japanese and German along with many other languages. Check out Steve Kaufmann's youtube account for more information. (lingosteve)

I tried out LingQ awhile back for German. It's a nice site, but I think I just ended up forgetting about it after a few days. I looked at it again not too long ago and was thinking of using it when I go through the Assimil courses for French, Spanish and Italian next year (starting in 2 weeks).

I've been watching Steve Kaufmann's videos for a bit now, along with several other YT polyglots and other language learners. I've gotten a lot of great ideas and tips from them. I want to eventually make videos practicing my languages and putting them up on YouTube like others have done. I just need to get a video camera first (and somehow get past my crippling social anxiety. :) ).

I ended up not doing anything on Friday, but I did watch a German movie (w/ subtitles) called "Die Welle". It was about a political class experiment that goes too far. I really enjoyed the movie. It will be added to my regular rotation of German movies to watch (without subtitles for now on).

Next on my list of German movies to watch (and hopefully add to the rotation): Der Baader Meinhof Komplex

Right now, the movies I watch (or have playing in the background) are: Das Leben Der Anderen, Der Untergang, Lola Rennt and now Die Welle. All very good, especially Das Leben Der Anderen which is one of the best movies I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of movies.) Das Boot is also on my "to watch" list as well as Die Fälscher. If anyone has any recommendations for German movies to watch, I'd love to hear them. (EDIT: After posting this, I saw there is a thread in the Movies section that has a lot of suggestions. Lots of German movies to add to my list now.)

Japanesepod101.com - Finished up the Newbie Season 2 series. 30 minutes. I'm going to take a break from new podcasts while I take the next week to review everything from the first and second Newbie seasons as well as the first 20 Beginner lessons. I'm also going to edit the audio so that I can listen to each conversation (each podcast uses a short conversation) one after the other at native speed.
Kanji SRS - 20 minutes
New Kanji - #728-#778 - 45 minutes

German - TY Improve Your German. Been through the first lesson now. Going to give it a few more run throughs before moving onto the next chapter. Also going to edit the audio so I can just have all of the German on the CDs without the English instruction. - 30 minutes

Total Time: 125 minutes
