Yesterday I did my one hour of Assimil Spanish with Ease. I bought it last year in Madrid but had only done to
about lesson 32 and then forgotten about it! I want to finish it now.
I went to see Haben Sie schon von den Morgans gehört? (Did you hear about the Morgans?) in the local
movie theatre yesterday. (in German without subtitles)

Jessikt,

I am impressed with your discipline to study as much as you do! The field you are going into at University sounds like a lot of fun. =)

By the way, I'm Kerrie - I'm the other Team O member. I'm still new to the whole forum thing, and I normally keep a low profile, but I have been keeping up with both you and Katie's logs. I like your blog, too!

I have been struggling a little with Spanish (just being/staying motivated with any particular program or approach). I actually like Assimil, and I might go back to it as well. It's the only program that doesn't bore me!

Just out of curiosity, what made you choose Swedish as a language to study? That's one of the languages I've always had a desire to learn a little of, but I feel like I need to focus on Spanish and French first and get them up to a more advanced level before I go study another random language!

Hi Kerrie! Sorry I didn't see your post until now!
I also have a big problem with sticking to programs, but I am going to try to finish Assimil before continuing onto a
new one!

I'm not really sure why I chose Swedish. I just like it! :) It is reaaally on the side right now though, as I have two big
German and Spanish tests coming up!

I'm glad that you like my blog!! :)
Good luck with your studies!

Today was a German day. :)

TV - watched one hour of TV while I ironed.
Listening - Podcast - Schlaflos in München, Podcast.de podcasts (1.5 hours)
Some Anki revision

now I'm going out downtown and will try to speak as much German as I can, but I will definitely be hearing it all
night!

Hello! :) Oh man I have massive problems finishing programs all the way through too. I think TAC helps me complete them though, I supose I never wrote down my goals before XD Good luck!

Hehe, how do you find dubbed films?? I avoid them like the plague usually, but I should watch more film in German... maybe I will have to resort to dubbed ones ;)

Is there much of a dialect where you are? Here in Zürich I feel like it's another language almost, but the more German I learn does help :)

Well, when I'm watching the movie to appreciate and enjoy the movie then I always watch it in the original
language. If I'm watching something purely for language-learning, then I don't mind dubbed movies at all.

There is definitely a dialect here in Burgenland! Here is an example from the news:

and more of an example of a (somewhat exagerated!) way that the "young people" speak. (I couldn't find a way to
phrase that without sounding like an old lady, haha)

I'm still here of course! I'm working away hard at German (daily 3 hour class at the University of Vienna currently!)
and I'm also having some difficulties with my application to the University for entry in the next semester (my school
document have to be sent back to Canada to be legalized! Argh!) so I've been a bit all over the place! I will try to
update the log more regularly soon! :)

Today has been a hardcore German day.
I spent the day in Vienna, speaking only German, went to my German class for three hours, came home and studied
for my Abschlusstest on Tuesday for four more hours.
