Hi there, I just want to know what are some good websites to obtain Icelandic books?
I've searched on google, and I just want to hear from other people of any websites that have Icelandic books
whether used or new. I also would like to know of any specific websites that have Old-Norse saga's in the "original"
or even just translations into modern Icelandic. For some reason I can't find any of the saga's in Icelandic for sale! I
found some great websites that feature sagas in Icelandic, but not any that sold books, and I prefer reading novels
and stories in book form as oppose to webpages.
Thanks a lot in advance :)

There are a few Icelandic works over at runeberg.org, although the majority of what's there is Swedish. They're all in the public domain, so they're free and in epub, mobi or pdf formats.

The best homepage to visit if you want sagas is in my opinion the Norwegian http://www.heimskringla.no, where you can find texts in all Nordic languages. Under "Norrøne kildetekster" you can even find the sagas in original (although with standardized spelling) with translations into the Modern Nordic languages. 'Beowulf' in Anglosaxon and Taciti 'Germania are also found here, plus the only major remaining specimen af Old Gutnic (from the island Gotland), Gudasagan, which I have written about in my log.
As for books in Icelandic it certainly is a problem. I have had to order some of my dictionaries directly from Reykjavik. I used the bookstore of the university (Bóksala Stúdenta ) for this, but there is also a big store called Mál og Menning in the town center which might be able to send books abroad.

I've bought books from Eymundsson before:
http://www.eymundsson.is/
They have a pretty decent selection of modern books.

hmmm, I tried buying a book from there and the only country I can choose to mail it to is Iceland. Perhaps it was
just that particular book I wanted to get (Ég man Þig) but that would be odd. How did you recieve the books that
you ordered? Or were they e-books?

A very good saga database is here:
http://www.sagadb.org/
I have have bought books from this site:
http://www.forlagid.is/
and there is also
http://www.boksala.is/
The main problem is the delivery costs, if you buy a
bunch of books several times it is cheaper to take
a flight there and buy the books in Reykjavík yourself,
haha.
