OK...i finished another book! I made it through "O alquimista" in two days! I'm proud of myself.

I think this was easier for me, primarily because I have more confidence and a different approach to reading than I did before. Also I'm not looking up words anymore; I just write them down to keep track of them, without the tedium I went through with "O vencedor está só". I counted 97 words in total, most of them nouns(i.e maçico, largartixa, cachimbo, espingardas, etc).

Now I have to decide what to read next - probably more Paulo Coelho, but I'm not sure.

Ok I attempted to read Dom Casmurro, but had to put it down. Its WAY to difficult for me.

So I'll just continue with some other Paulo Coelho book, before trying to take on the 'classics'.

Why don't you try Jorge Amado? He's my favourite Brazilian author. Generally not too difficult to understand, there is a lot of colloquilisms but you soon get used to them. Where do you find the Brazilian shows on the internet? Just on youtube?

I opted to read "O zahir", which I'm enjoying

Thanks for the heads up. Any specific book you would recommend?

Yes, and also on a few blogs that upload shows/movies.
