Mm... It's not that I'm thinking on a withdraw but... it gets harder when your agenda is so tight. I haven't had the time to translate as much as needed, and thus I've felt kind of dissapointed (and unable to reach my goal by the end of June). I decided to change my mind about the translation process. It will not be a source of information, that is, whenever I approach a text and try to translate it, I shan't see it as if it were written in my mother tongue (i.e. as a trustable source of info); instead, it will be to me a sole set of words and sentences my mind is gonna start to soak up.
I fancy rely on a conversational-monologue-like-questionnaire as well to consolidate the vocabulary/sentences I'll be working on. But that's for a new entry. Just for the record... Yesterday I verified what I suspected, Catalan seems to be a worthy candidate for a future TAC. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

You can do it!
For Latin, I recommend the book "Lingua Latina", if you can mail-order it or find it online. That, along with a good grammar, should get you to a very good level, and it's more fun than your typical textbook. You could also work with the free online course I created many years back at http://www.learnlangs.com/latin . In optimal conditions, you should be able to start reading Golden Age Roman authors in the original Latin after just 50 hours. This is what students of my online class achieve (26 times 1 hour of classes, plus time for review and vocabulary study).
