Hi. I'm currently at Unit 6 of Pimsleur Russian I and want to start using MT in conjunction with it sometime.
I'll probably do 1 Pimsleur and 2-3 MT lessons a day. When do you think should I start MT and how to use
it? Thanks.

Start whenever you feel like it.

Be warned, though: there is no such thing as an "MT lesson". The recording is a single continuous lesson.

I find that the best way to approach MT is to "overlap" your sessions -- relisten to the last few minutes before you stopped before starting onto anything new. This refreshes the memory and gets you to where you need to be before tackling new material. The longer it's been since your last session, the longer you'll want the overlap to be.

I see. What should I do after I finish both Pimsleur and MT then? Read books, watch russian TV? How can
I practice my speaking when there's no one around me?

I'm in the same situation. I finished all three Pimsleur. Then did all MT courses, but after Pimsleur they were very easy. Still picked up a bit of vocab. I use LingQ to read and listen to Russian and find new words that way. You could also try to meet someone to talk over Skype with on something like Livemocha.

It's a tough spot to be. It's happened to me a few times now that I've outgrown all the language learning material, but then don't know where to go.

Try to use also Assimil Without Toil (the older version of Assimil)
I'm using it now and it's Absolutely Perfect

I just can't seem to acquire that. Do you know a place where can I get it for free? Unlike Pimsleur and MT,
there is no Assimil in my school library.

You can get it from many sites on net ( do a search) if your school library doesn't have it

I can't give you one here because it's not allowed at this site
many topics closed in the past , 'coz Assimil said (assimil without toil under copyrights law) although it's from 50s !

I see. They say that Assimil is confusing though. Is that so?
