I'm trying to buy Assimil German with Ease from amazon.com, but am having trouble figuring out which product to buy. One product comes with a book and 4 cds (supposedly) and costs $32. Another product also says it comes with a book and 4 cds, but costs $192. Why? Both are called Assimil German with Ease. The only difference I can see is the year. The more expensive one is from 2005 and the less expensive one is from 1999. Here are the amazon links to the two product pages:
http://www.amazon.com/Assimil-Language-Courses-Compact-Engli sh/dp/0685520935/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1282264310&s r=8-2

Can anyone explain this weirdness to me? Thanks!

the one with 4 cds and costs $32 is correct. Two different editions would be my guess. I ordered the Italian program for $32 and absolutely no problems :)

You can always check the exact ISBN numbers on Assimil's website.

Here is Amazon's product description for the $33 version:
Learn modern German in 100 lively and entertaining lessons. In just five months, you will be able to hold a conversation with German speakers. The audio recordings, made by professional voice-over artists, are invaluable for picking up the rhythms of the spoken language. Book & 4 CDs (total running time: 130 minutes).
The versions of Assimil that Amazon sells for around $200 seem to be older imports while the cheaper versions are newer editions. But the actual material is exactly the same.

The Assimil and audio's are solid separately. But, I found this one which is both with
the book and the audio
s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1282288587&sr=1-11">Assimil German with Ease with Audio
The difference is the black/red/yellow German flag colours in the back is the old version
which I got instead of the proper one like in your second link. The second one is the one
you want.

Okay, that clears it up a bit. I'm really glad the $32 one is correct and not the more
expensive one! Thanks so much for your help. :)
