I don't know where you got this from (and I don't even understand "hanging and flogging rhetoric" unless it's meant literally, in which case it makes no sense) but their party programme is actually more moderate in every respect, including immigration, than that of the governing party 30 years ago. In most respects they are very similar to the (now largest) Moderate party of ten years ago. Furthermore, the immigration policies they advocate are in line with most other European countries. The reason they seem extreme is only that Sweden has one of the most extreme immigration policies in the world.
