Gon-no-suke-さん、ありがとうございました。

jya-a,

There was a lot of studying today - for me probably enough. Today was especially busy. I called the movers -- "moving service". I asked the service guy when he could come. He said he's coming to me tomorrow to take a look. We have a lot of baggage, big, cumbersome (difficult) things. When the service guy comes here tomorrow I'll show him around. I'm in a hurry because I still have to clean! It would be nice if I had more time. I want to try to write 100 sentences (counter for sentences ? 点 ?)by tomorrow. No problem. I've already written 50.

It's late...I'm starving so (I'm off) to make some noodles...

(A better word for "service guy"? Something with 者 ? I have no idea..)

I'm going to have to take a break from the writing practice. I've been conversing in the multi-lounge. I need to do a significant amount of writing everyday in order to make that transition into speaking, but I'm running out of time. I'd better work on reading and listening. I'm going to do that next. I'll try to follow up on my posts that I've left but I think I'm about to leave my log for a while.

it's getting down to the wire. We only have four weeks until we move...

It's so easy to get lost in here so I'll have to stop coming in until I have a handle on things. I want to make sure my studies don't fall behind.

I'm doing listening practice with the new link I found and my new grammar books should be here any day now. I'm at lesson 32 with Assimil.

I've changed my mind! I want to continue writing. I just listened to a Japanese CD and I swear I notice a difference in my comprehension. Can it work that fast?? I listened to this CD last week and it's one that I use to challenge myself -- I normally understand only about 60%. My comprehension has improved somewhat. Can the writing be helping me that much??

I don't care if I have to make up an audience. I don't care if my log turns into a diary of complete fiction. I'm going to write every day in Japanese. It takes forever, too. I spent one hour on about 10 sentences in the M.Lounge. Why? I always have to google what I want to write to check it. Then to check my complete understanding of that I run it through an online translator or two. Of course I get lost surfing japanese words and sentences and time flies. It's necessary. I want to make sure of what I write, especially if there's an experienced speaker or native in the forum, like the one I've had the good fortune of chatting with lately.

I may be overestimating my ability to write every day, but come hell or high water, move or no move there will be something soon.

ドイツで都市でも近郊でも小学校がある。昔 は都市で育った小学生は都市の小学校に通っ た。
しかし、都市では学校が込んでいました。都 市の小学校のクラスでは小学生の数は30人で 。 近郊の小学校が都市よりすいていまし 。 小学生は大都市に住んでいるのに、す ているの小学校に行きたい。最近、近郊の 学校に通うになります。官署は小学生に好 な小学校に通せた

In Germany there are schools outside the city and city schools. It used to be that elementary school students who grew up in the city went to the city school. (had to go). However, the schools were crowded in the city. In the city school the number of students in a elementary school classroom is 30. The elementary school outside the city is not as crowded as the city elementary school. Although the elementary school student lives in the city, he/she wants to go to the less crowded school. Recently, students are starting to go to the schools outside of the city. The (Schulamt/school districting authority) is letting elementary school students go to the school that they want.

Okay, so it's a little convoluted. Trying to translate what amounts to a German districting problem in Japanese is not without its problems.

German tag words where I need a Japanese word (???): Schulamt or Amt, Schulbezirk, Vorort, Stadt.

Hopefully I can reduce the amount of garbage in my Japanese. If somebody wanted to to read it, they'd have to sift through the garbage and piece it together --- mm, that's right -- not much chance that anyone is going to want to do that, so hopefully I can clean it up... Here goes...

外国語習うのは難しい。昔、独学で習得する ために、カセットテ--プ本を使わなければな ないでしょう。しかし、知識が増えないし 海外旅行に出かけて、外国語を勉強したの 、外国語が上がれる。しかし、皆が旅行 のことが出来ない。インターネットが来たの 時代だから、難しい外国語を習うようになり ました。

Learning a foreign language is hard. It used to be that in order to learn a foreign language through self-study you had to use a cassette and a book. However, you don't learn a lot. (knowledge doesn't grow.) You could improve (raise) the foreign language by going outside to travel and studying a foreign language. However not everyone can travel. Since the time of the Internet more people started learning difficult languages.

Cross you fingers that there's no garbage.....sending now...

EDIT: ARRRRGGHHHH...

Hello Sunja,
I find it an excellent help, to write in the language one is learning. I did so, writing my own Italian blog.

So do I! I hope to be able to continue, but it's very time-consuming. I google through blogs adn pieces of the news to make sure I'm using the right verbs and phrases. Translating all that (kanji) is hard.

ニュース では、ドイツでは現在失業率が上がるでしょ う。私はひまがあるとき、も読みます。仕事 の書類を準備してありません。そろそろ失礼 します

According to the news, the unemployment rate in Germany will probably increase. I'll read if I have more time. THe documents for work are not prepared. I'll be leaving (for now)...

I've been given two extra hours of work this week. It looks like I've gotten busy again. I tried to do what I can to prepare for the move but I don't think I can do anymore until the last two weeks. I did some listening quizes this afternoon. The scripts are great but I didn't get a chance to look over them. I just listened. I pick up new things each time. It's a great level for me. Not too hard, not too easy... I worked on vocabulary. I've started working on 100 new words. This morning I accidentally woke up at 4:00 (!!). I went ahead and got up and started picking apart the news in Japanese. It was really quite peaceful. It's as peaceful as it gets around my house. Except for an insane rooster that a distant neighbor keeps as a pet, it's as quiet as a tune. Perfect time for study. I won't be doing it again, though, if I can help it...
