One of the favourites to win the Nobel Prize for literature this year is Ngugi wa
Thiong'o, who, interesting for us language enthusiasts, writes in a little known language
called Gikuyu. Gikuyu is spoken in Kenya by around five million people. It would be nice
if he won, if only because it would draw considerable attention to this little known
language.

My middle name is actually Gikuyu (Kikuyu). I've seen resources on different university sites for this language. I have some literature in the language, though, I haven't had time to study it.
