I am really enjoying the use of Alif-Baa. With the DVDs, it is very interactive and uses important skills of listening, writing, reading.

I certainly would recommend it. Awde's book however, can be read much quicker, and gives an overview of the letters and the alphabet as a whole.

PS. J'ai visité votre site. Puis, j'ai trouvé le titre <<L'Arabe et moi>>. Interessant, bien sur, specialement où vous dites: <<J'aime la langue arabe en soi, c'est une langue très intéressant grammaticalement. Je n'aime pas, par contre, le son de la langue, ni vraiment la culture arabe. Si j'avais été un homme, j'aurais déjà été capable de parler la langue, mais malheureusement, je n'en suis pas un...>>


I have never tried Alif Baa myself (I used this rather user non-friendly book with poor audio and a crappy introductory class via the Internet) but all Arabic methods seem to get quite a lot of criticism. Doesn't Alif Baa lack vowel marks or something like that?

What are you personal opinions about Arabic? :)

Alif Baa does include vowel marks, and it has practice sessions for each vowel mark, and other marks. It is very comprehensive I think.


Arabic in general is very interesting. I enjoy using a different alphabet, and it's been the tricky part, and it's worth it. The main reason I want to learn it is for my job and also I want to know more about the culture and the people. Once I finish Alif Baa, I feel I'll move alot faster with my arabic learning. =)

OBSERVATIONS
I upped my arabic time so that I could have it dramatically catch up, and so I could finish as much of Alif Baa for this month.
