OBSERVATIONS:
WILLPOWER AND THE TIME OF DAY
I've noticed that I am very motivated now that I have a set and clear strategy for success in both the languages.
My will power is very evident especially when there are times that I don't feel like studying or I can hear voices in
my head telling me to stop, but somehow I'm pulled towards continuing and achieving my daily goal. It's a great
feeling to accomplish what I set out to do for the day regarding the languages.
I'm particularly happy that I'm over half way of the Pimsleur French course!
One thing I did notice today was that it was challenging for me to study during the day, particularly when the
sun was out. I was very distracted by the heat of the sun and the brightness of it in my house. I found that my
concentration for languages was greater in the evening, as the weather was cooler, and I ended up finishing my
French goal of 6 units of Pimsleur. Hooray!
Now onto Pimsleur French III!

OBSERVATIONS:
I'm heading off to do my 2-year UN posting in Bangladesh starting from next Thursday, and in recent days and
days to come, it seems that it's been a little challenging to give myself a chunk of time to study languages
because I've been doing my preparations to leave.
I'm still determined to study French and Tagalog everyday, regardless, even if it is a little, so that at least the
daily habit of studying is cemented in my subconscious.
It's exciting to go to another country, Bangladesh, and be surrounded by another culture and language. I'm also
enthusiastic that I'll be able to test out my self-study language skills there.

OBSERVATIONS:
Having now moved to Bangladesh for my humanitarian posting, it has taken some time to prepare, move, and
then settle
into the country, especially what with contracting food poison and then stints of diahorrea and vomiting (which is
all too common when one travels to a developing country).
In any event, I am glad to be posting again, and I really can sense that this language progression has become a
formidable habit that I've been drawn back to my logbook. I'm so thankful that I have this logbook to be able to
know where I left off.
I'm gradually getting a routine for my work and spare time, so I do need to be flexible with the amount of time I
put into the language learning at first. My most important goal is to ensure that I build up my daily consistency
of learning languages - even if it is 30min or just a movie in each language.
