Urgh.. I really don't like K-Pop. And sorry but I CAN'T STAND Korean boybands and girlbands... o_O

... In exactly the same way I can't see the attraction to British bands and artists. Snow Patrol, Mika, Girls Aloud - I can't stand them. I just don't like music in English. Before I was pulled into K-Pop I never really listened to music, if I'm honest. :P

Well, I'd love to buy more German books... but.. but.. I've already bought too many books, most of them German. I think I probably spent around $300 on books while in Korea. Seriously, I've spend WAYY to much money that I shouldn't buy anything else. So I must control myself not to buy the new Christmas Album by Andrea Bocelli, King's Singers CDs, John Rutter and Cambridge Singers, Colloquial Hindi, Arabic for Beginners, Beginning Latin, Pimsleur: Basic Hebrew, etc. Seriously, I should learn the art of self-control when in bookshops and music stores.

Erich Kästner is a famous German storyteller. He wrote many books, but is most famous for his children's books. If it wasn't for him, Preußler and Ende, my childhood wouldn't have been what it was. ;)

See, if I had the money, I'd be exactly the same. Instead I empty the shelves of charity shops. Like I said earlier, I got 4 200-page Korean books for £4, which is pretty cheap! There are hidden gems in those shops, you just have to look.

Oh by the way, are you planning to visit Korea anytime soon?

I'd absolutely love to, but I'm too young and don't have the funds or permission to do so. I would if I could, but I can't. However, the course I'm aiming to take at university has a required year in Seoul, so we shall see. ;)

I don't really have an interest in K-dramas, though, but that's mostly because I don't really watch much TV in any language (and even when I did, most of the TV I watched wasn't drama).

I barely watch any TV in English, let alone another language! So watching a drama is, for me, very strange. I had to ask what a drama was, I'm that unfamiliar with TV! XD

I am back from France, having been thoroughly embarrassed after flapping my arms and pointing to a Pot Noodle in a French supermarket in a (I think quite valiant!) attempt to communicate with the staff. Never again, I say. Never again.

I had good intentions with my Korean - I took all my books with me, but I found myself too exhausted to even think about studying any, so I've been lazy recently.

But! I found more Korean kids' books in that charity shop I've previously mentioned. So I'm going through those.

I also installed Mnemosyne, since I've been wondering for a while what all the fuss about SRS programs is all about. I am drilling sentences and words from songs, online newspaper articles and my two dictionaries, which will hopefully improve my vocabulary a lot (the one area with which I have the most problems!).

I plan to keep going with the KoreanClass101 podcasts I have, even if they do get a bit tiring to listen to sometimes, since I learn best by listening. Two lessons twice each per day should be enough, I think - I will write down the words that are new to me, stick them into Mnemosyne and see what happens. Hopefully this will work. :D

Otherwise though, am keeping up the passive listening and diary-writing.
