Tonight's lesson was a revelation! I spent a full 45 minutes just talking Egyptian Arabic - talking about the work I had done today, my plans for tomorrow and Sunday, the food I like, my friend's upcoming trip to Berlin... talking slowly and asking for vocabulary occasionally of course, and sometimes Hala had to ask questions, but towards the end she had trouble getting a word in edge-wise! I feel goood.

TEL: it's Myngle's policy, because Myngle is paying the difference between the € 49 flat rate and the fee that the teacher normally charges.
For example: I paid 49 EUR for 30 days of lessons (October 10th to November 9th). Normally, my teacher charges 7 EUR per 30-minute lesson. I took 23 lessons so far, so that should have cost me 161 EUR, but I as I only paid 49 EUR. Myngle will pay an additional 161 - 49 EUR = 112 EUR out of their marketing budget. Hala will receive the full 161 EUR.
If I could sign up for another boost period, Myngle would again have to pay 112 EUR or more of their own money towards my lessons ;-) They obviously only want to do it once, to get people hooked on taking lessons on Myngle, so everybody who signs up to Myngle can only participate in the Boost one time.

Today was the last day!
It's been a quick 30 days, but I did learn a lot. My active vocabulary in Egyptian Arabic is now around 200 words, and it would likely be a bit more if I hadn't taken MSA first. Then again, there were many words I learned for MSA that are the same or similar in Egyptian, for example the numbers. I am very happy with the progress I have made, especially the amount of talking I can do in Egyptian now. I will continue to learn Arabic, but also focus on my other languages more now.

*Gives a round of applause*
Well done Sprachprofi! It sounds like you have done really well. I hope you go on to master Egyptian Arabic and also become strong is MSA. Learn another dialect and the Arabic speaking world is in your hands, so to speak.
Shalom or should I say Salaam,
Yehoshua.

This only makes me angrier at my high school language classes! I've been in Chinese for 5 weeks and we haven't even been taught to put together a single sentence! Even in my French 3 class most people stumble and stutter through any sentence they're asked to pull off the top of their head. Oh the pains of high school language study...
Anyways, congrats on the successful studying, it was fun and inspiring to read your log!
