Background: Brazilian-born minor living in a backwards town in the middle of nowhere, by which I mean Amazon rainflorest zone (thank god for wireless). High school in the morning, Internet in the evening and tries to take over the world every night. Likes to fiddle around with the harmonica and dreams of globe-trotting and, of course, fooling y'all.
Short-term goals: The various tasks that will come up in this thread, together with my ramblings and musings. Medium-term goal:Get good enough to fool you I'm a native. Long-term goal: Build it up my language to a professional level, that is, enough to get people to pay me to speak and write. Translator, interpreter, ghostblogger, maybe plus Japanese plus German? I dunno. Methods: Output is the only God and I am his prophet. I began to feel very numb by passively watching and reading the web ( in fact one of my favorite pastimes had become turning on the webcam at random moments just to laugh at how bored I looked ), and this was really turning me off. Plus, lack of exercise and sleep contributed to demotivate me even further. Tired of being bored, I decided to produce output all the time, and indeed this log makes part of this effort. I will sing along every speech, and type in every word. "But which words?", you may wonder. Well, I'll make sure they don't come from grammars and courses and SRS things. At the beginning, they'll come from random sources like Digg until I find out some subject cool ( and profitable ) enough for me to pick up and stick with. Language exchange partners are fun pals, that's a fact; but I also want to get friends with natives that couldn't care less about speaking slowly and carefully. I also plan on starting up a blog and a youtube account. So, now that's all said, stay around and watch me get it done! Thank you. 1 person has voted this message useful |
