Actually a few things got lost in translation, and the instance of "trashed" is one of the ones that actually took some thought on how to translate. The word I used in Korean is a kind of slang for "very drunk" and---I didn't know this until I said it on TV---apparently it's on the blacklist for broadcasts, but I got away with it because I'm foreign. It might make more sense if you think of a high figure such as a president or prime minister saying "trashed," "plastered," "totally hammered," and so on in the middle of a serious political speech. The part about so-called "phale pancakes" was me being internet stupid and the literal translation would have been really dull: "Thank you for the big laughs rather than yoga."

I went to school in kindergarten at Shreve Island Elementary but haven't gone to school in that state ever since.

Ah ok, shame. I go to LSU so I was hoping to find someone else who likes languages in the area. :)
