Yes, I prefer this one too. Streaming video I find annoying: quality is poor, playback is choppy, and many times you are forbidden from accessing it merely because of the country you are in. I'd much rather download the content earlier and then watch it comfortably.

At D-Addicts you can find lots of high quality video and are not discriminated against on the basis of nationality, but most of it is Japanese and Korean.

Anyone know a source of abundant Mainland drama downloads? VeryCD was valuable since it employed eMule, but it seems they have gone over to streaming as well.

Viki is completely useless because of region locking.

Well, if you're not a contributor to their subs/segments you won't be able to watch the latest dramas, but still a lot of stuff from half a year or longer ago is accessible. Besides, there's also some media from non-Asian countries and pretty much all of that is accessible, so I wouldn't call it completely useless.

For Korean language learners, a good drama TV station is KBS World. It is broadcast internationally and can be accessed via the Internet (for a small monthly fee) except by those who live in Japan and America. In America, you can watch KBS World as a cable station. It broadcasts 24 hours and has English subtitles for most programs.

Here is the link for KBS World: http://kbsworld.kbs.co.kr/schedule/weekly_schedule.html

In California, KBS World is showing on channel 173 KTSFW. Current dramas are "Glory Jane", "Iris", "King Gwanggaeto the Great" and "Brain". You can check the TV schedule at the link above. American KBS World TV is a bit behind the internet broadcasting in that they are showing less recent episodes of dramas.

I don't really like many dramas that much except a couple that I am really into and I don't really know what's going in the drama world as a rule. I find the human interest shows/documentaries about real people more interesting. I also like the food shows.

I go to Dramafever for Korean dramas. Mysoju for everything else.
