	US Government program to encourage "critical language" learning: http://www.clscholarship.org/ Its limited to college students but for those of us still at school, it seems like a great program. I was just wondering if anyone had any personal knowledge or experience with the program or knew anything about its admissions. 1 person has voted this message useful

	I have had a few friends go through the program (Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, respectively) and they all had very positive things to say. Contrary to what you might expect, there isn't a great deal of flag-waving or pressure to join the State Department or other parts of the government. The programs vary significantly in style, but all seem pretty awesome. 	Thanks snomadic The blog gave me some good insight into the program. I am definitely putting an application in for the 2011 program, but I'm still curious about their admissions process. Did any of your friends do the beginner programs? I don't have any significant background in the languages they offer, but I want to try for the Urdu program. 1 person has voted this message useful
