Now that the Super Challenge has started...
I'm looking for TV show box sets that have more than just one or two language tracks on them. I checked around on the different Amazon sites and most of the sets I found only have English and one (maybe two) other language tracks on them.
I was specifically looking for Stargate SG-1, but I'd be open to another series if I can find something (sci-fi, crime, drama, comedy, not so into the teenage 90210 stuff, though!). It would be really nice if I could find a few sets (or a set with the whole series) with at least a few of my target languages on them: Spanish, French, Italian, and German.
PS. I'm not sure if this is in the right place. I didn't know what part of the forum to post my question to. Feel free to move it to the appropriate place. =)

I can't speak for US Region 1 DVDs, but certainly in Europe the R2 DVDs of all the Star
Trek series have tracks in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. As do all the
seasons of Medium (which is quite a fun drama about a psychic mother who solves horrible
crimes, while always making sure her kids get to school on time). They also have
subtitles in all these languages and many more.
Both of these series have been great for me.

When I checked Amazon, it looks like the sets available on Amazon France and Amazon Germany have only the original English and either French or German.
I thought there were different Region 2 sets, for different countries. I just ordered the Stargate set with French, but it looks like (from reviews) some of the seasons have other language tracks as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I used to watch Medium when it was on. Good show. =)

Yes, Amazon is often really unhelpful in that respect. Sometimes they only list the
language of the country in which they are selling the item, when in fact there are three
or four languages on the discs. Or, worse, they list languages which turn out not to be
available.
Obviously they don't have many language learners on staff.

I can play Region 2 DVDs on my computer, so that's not an issue, translator2. I am just trying to maximize my dollars, especially since shipping to the US is so expensive! =)
I will check some of those out. I have never watched True Blood - that might be good place to try my comprehension on something brand new.

It varies from series to series. For exemple the Game of thrones has the most languages
in the Czech Republic (and seems to not be available in other covered countries for some
strange reason) and it has got English, Czech, French, Spanish, Polish, Hungarian and
perhaps one more, not sure which (it is not German).
Fringe from amazon.es has got English, Spanish, French, German.
Other than that, I have encountered the same trouble. With the difference that most dvds
sold in the Czech Republic do have other languages but usually it's only Polish and
Hungarian :-(
So, keep up with sharing your findings and thank you all for this awesome thread.
