Hey again,

So I received my results of my DELF B1 via email a couple of hours ago...
= 79.50/100

CO: 16/25 (Compréhension de l'oral)
CE: 23/25 (Compréhension des écrits)
PE: 20/25 (Production écrite)
PO: 20.5/25 (Production orale)

All in all I'm happy with the results. I know where my weak points are, and I know how to proceed from here -
stay motivated!

Now for an important question... Is it better to turd on a bird or change one's name to McBird? My theory is
McBird will always win. 1 it's easier. 2 it's easier and 3 it's not as difficult.
That's my word, for realio,
MC McBird
Peace out...
.. and I ain't even got seven legs

Thanks Luke, as robotic as I might seem at times with all my dry routines, waffling self-absorbing posts, and
numbers, I'm like any regular person with emotions, self-worth and so on, so it means a lot to have the
support of others, that's where ppl on this site really help :)

So thank you for your support Luke :) Little words can help one nudge themselves along the long and winding
road of language learning :)

Thanks Mohave,

Here's a little bit of vanity.... Just added the nice little letter B1 next to the French
language. B1 is not exactly C1 but just adding that makes me feel like I'm accomplishing
something

:) Thanks again Mohave, how's your journey coming along?

Congratulations! You aren't even scraping by so you're probably well on your way to B2. You're probably due for a magical breakthrough in listening comprehension which will catapult you there. Using your really high reading skills will help you acquire more vocabulary to fill in holes. If you have a grammar book, I recommend focusing on all the little conjunctions and glue words/phrases (such as "au cas où", "faute de quoi", "alors que", etc). I found that once I started doing that everything else just fell into place around them.

Bonne continuation !

Thanks sctroyenne,

I appreciate the feedback :) I read parts of your journey (log). It's inspirational and intimidating at the same
time but mix those two together and I arrive at 'determination'. I'm determined to keep on keeping on to pass
through the levels that you've done so well to pass through. Great work, and thanks again, keep up your
studies :)

Since reading Mohave's latest log entry I decided to get my act together. In doing so I
should at least make a note of where i'm up to in my courses. I have barely progressed
due to the introduction of reading, doing significantly less study time per day on
average over the last month, reviewing older material prior to my exam, and introducing
an hour of Dutch again each Day.

Assimil NFWE Lesson 78
French in Action Leçon 15
Fluenz Level 3 Lesson 15
FSI Mastering French Level 1 Unit 4
Hugo French in 3 Months (2nd reading out of 3 at end of book)

(in Dutch i'm just happy plouging fwd with an hour of day using at the moment Hugo
Dutch in 3 months & VocabuLearn)

I did however manage to complete the audio course Rocket French Premium. This is no
achievement to write home about, as it's pretty basic French. Mind you it gave me a
sprinkling of new words and at least was something to listen to in the car on the way
to work and back. Now I'm going back through Michel Thomas from scratch to masterclass
before I move on to something new in terms of audio while commuting.

At the end of April it would be nice to have progressed more significantly in these
courses and to have finished with Hugo French in 3 months once and for all (I have no
reason to return I believe as I have entered ALL words that were not previously entered
into my SRS French vocab deck). Speaking of which I have decided this morning to up my
10min SRS use per hour of French to 20 min as I still have many many new cards that are
still 'new' and not 'active'. I have 2 decks for French. One is English-French, the
other French-English. The 2nd deck being a copy of the first in reverse. The first deck
all my cards are active, whereas the 2nd deck still has 2927 cards that have are
'pending' as new cards that are yet to become 'active' (3 correct answers post creating
each card has them pass from new/pending to active).

So let's get to it PM, April awaits!

Question 4472:
How many apples in a can of peas?
