I feel I've done a lot of 'rebooting' of my old language skills, indeed all I seem to have done is learn Spanish to a decent level from zero.
However, I've found the Michel Thomas CD's great for rebooting spoken language and I've used them for Arabic, Russian - both languages I was 'proficient' before so about C1 level: as well as Japanese where I was probably at about B2 level.
The problem, or one of the problems with MT is the lack of vocabulary so you'll need another way around that.
PS
Been off the site for a few months as I move around Spain as I've got lot of other things to be doing but I'm back in UK for a few months now and working with a Russian lady so hopefully my Russian will improve noticeably.
