I am curious if anyone has used Assimil's Griechisch ohne Mühe course around here? I am wanting to begin learning Greek and although my German isn't too great, I have read stories of people using Assimil courses in a base language which they did not know at all, so I was thinking that perhaps I, knowing a decent amount of German, could give it a shot. It will be a fun experiment. I wanted to make sure it was a good course though before I shell out a good amount of money for it. Thanks in advance!

I used the Italian edition of the same course (Il nuovo greco senza sforzo) and I would say it's a very good course. Once you are done with Assimil you may also consider FSI's and DLI's Greek Basic Courses (I studied with the first two volumes of the former), they are freely available on the internet and very comprehensive, though a bit outdated.
