I still stand by my belief that since this forum has grown so much lately, a multilingual lounge (that is, a forum with the express purpose of having discussions in languages other than English) would be very beneficial to the growth of the forum. I know that we had one in the past and it was shut down due to inactivity, but we had significantly fewer members back then. With nearly 4000 members now, I foresee it quickly becoming one of the more active forums. Not only would it provide a place for people to practice their target languages, but also somewhere for people who are learning English to ask questions if they aren't comfortable enough to ask their question in English.

So, I figure before I just propose that we create one, we see how active it would be. If a significant number of people say that they would use the forum, perhaps we could try adding the forum and see how it goes.

Sounds good. I'm all for it, and would actively post there as well.

Darobat, thank you for this clear poll! I have reactivated the Multilingual Lounge. Let me know if there are any problems. We'll have to work out a policy for moderating the room but let's first see where it goes.

How about moving these French/Russian/Portuguese/et.c. threads to the lounge? The day I feel comfortable enough in anything else than Swedish/English I will post there. :)

Why not start a Swedish thread?

I believe there are two such threads already in the room.

Volte, I just thought that the existing non-English threads should be moved (and now I can see that they have). Of course I will write posts in Swedish in the appropriate thread(s).
