Has anyone here ever taken the DALF French language test? I'm fluent in French and planning to take the DALF (C1). The test seems pretty rigorous. To make sure I pass, I'm signing up for the test prep course given by the CNED (French distance learning organization). I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences. Hello. I haven't taken the DALF yet, but I am intending to do this semester. Right now I am using a book called Le nouvel entraînez-vous DALF C1-C2 250 Activités as my main refrence.

I'm also interested in taking the DALF, but I don't really know if I would be able to get a good score (hopefully not barely passing) in C1. I'm still waiting for Réussir le DALF C1/C2 published by Didier to come to Canada. I haven't been impressed with the Nouvel Entrainez-vous mentioned above as it contained many exercises that are not typical of the questions asked on the DALF exam.

Molsa, there's also "Activités pour le Cadre Commun – Niveau C1/C2" published by CLE International, and I'm waiting for it to come to Canada as well. How do you plan on preparing for the DALF?

First thanks for the new book tip.
Victor right now I am using the book I have and struggling through the exercises. I also get some explanations from a teacher of Alliance Française who passed DALF C2 in France. She is my friend.I am using the site www.rfi.fr to read news and practicing listening. They offer the script of Le journal en français facile, I find it good for vocabulary and checking pronunciation. They have some exercises for french learners, too easy for the DALF level though. I am just starting with writing, so a copy news texts of different subjects to improve spelling, I got the advice from professor Arguelles` post. Reading is my strongest point because of my native language. I can guess the meaning because of the word root. I am not sepaking in french a lot, but when I have the chance I try to organize my toughts like I will have to do in the test. I try to explain myself using examples without losing the focus of my conclusions. It can be a bit boring sometimes to not let yourself go, but I just speak in french to a french teacher. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Hey everyone !
I took the DALF C1 test last year and passed it. Really,it's not that hard! There are no surprises in this test, you just have to parctice some specific things in order to succeed. Like, you have to know how to do a synthèse de texte and know how to write a letter (formule d'appel, formule de politesse...) because this specific knowledge will be in the exam, no doubt about it. So I recomend you to buy a book, like people said before. It doesn't matter which of these books you'll get, because at the end of the day they're all the same My advice is to practice a lot la synthèse de texte and to download some old exams from the internet. And be prepared for the listening , cause in my point of view it was the hardest part of the exam.Usually they pick an interview from a radio program and the questions are not easy.It's not just "fill in the blanks", you know? In addition to that there are some really fast interviez or a persons's opinion about something and then you just have to tick the right answer - but be carefull,the answers are tricky!
