German - Worked on Lesson 9 for school.

Indonesian - "Learned" Lesson 1 of TY. The only new words were like businessman, dancer, etc. Reviewed Lesson 5 of Linguaphone again. Lesson 5 has a lot of new material and I really want to know it all, so I don't mind taking a few days to finish learning it. Tomorrow I should start Lesson 6. **

Russian - Learned Lesson 4 in Hugo. Currently reading through the Penguin course. Almost finished with Lesson 4. It feels like I'm reading Hugo again. A lot of the material is EXACTLY the same, though the Penguin course has a good amount of extra stuff. Even so, Hugo has audio. **

** I started using Anki. I have ~60 Russian words and ~10 Indonesian words.. there's not too much I don't know so far with Indonesian, just some obscure words from TY.

I'll update this later tonight after I'm done studying for the day.

If I decide to go towards the linguistics side (which I'm leaning towards right now), I'd really like to do research, but
if I choose math, I think I'd get a masters and work in business. But I'm sure you have plenty of time to decide, and
if you want to do computational linguistics, I hear it's very lucrative! Good luck with all your languages, I can't
believe you're learning so many! I have my hands full with just Turkish.

French - Learned up to Lesson 46 of FWOT.

German - Learned up to Lesson 19 of GWOT.

Indonesian - I spent almost all of today with Russian, and only realized it upon thinking about writing my entry for today. Thus, I'll be reviewing AGAIN tonight. Then, I promise myself, I'll start new material! I'll finish with some Anki, consisting of all of ten words.

Russian - Went over Lessons 8-14 in RWOT, taking note of stuff just as I did with Lessons 1-7 yesterday.. Starting 15 tomorrow. Learned Lesson 5 in both Hugo and Penguin. It covered mostly the same material - asking questions and the prepositional case of both nouns and pronouns. The Penguin course of course had more examples and exceptions than Hugo. I completed all the exercises from both books on Lesson 5. Did some Anki as well. I now have 97 words/phrases in Anki for Russian.

I swear, I must have spent six hours on Russian today. I think I'm addicted. :X

Past two days:

French - learned up to Lesson 49 of FWOT.

German - worked more on lesson for school. I should note that my first six lessons have been A+'s and the seventh an A. I also learned up to lesson 21 of GWOT.

Indonesian - got my Assimil Indonesian book finally. Learned Lesson 1. Started on Lesson 6 of Linguaphone. Learned Lesson 2 of Teach Yourself Indonesian. It's weird that Linguaphone only uses "saudara" and hasn't yet mentioned "anda" as a way of saying "you". Also, in Linguaphone, "tetapi" is used to mean [one form of the word] "but", and in the first lesson of Assimil they use "tapi" which is the shortened form. There's also a stark contrast in the accents in Linguaphone/Assimil. Maybe they'll merge later and show the `other side`.

Russian - Learned Lesson 6 in both Hugo and Penguin. Similar content, but Penguin had more again. Possessives (only in Penguin), the accusative case and its uses, and animate nouns. I skipped over the sections on patronymics, surnames, etiquette, etc. for now. I'll read that later tonight probably. I just don't see it too important at the moment.

Spanish - almost done with Lesson 4 for school. I should note that my first three lessons have been A's.

I have 114 words/phrases of Russian in Anki and 62 in Indonesian. The grammar isn't bad in either language (yet, for Russian at least) but I'm having trouble memorizing all these words. I suppose I'll stay on the lessons until I've mastered the vocab given in them. For example, for Penguin I have some vocab in lessons 4-6 that I haven't mastered, so I'll keep reviewing those chapters until I have all (or at least most) of the vocab down. Then I'll continue. I think the same should go for Indonesian, since at the moment it seems to be more of a word-learning challenge because the grammar's so simple. But I know later I'll have to learn prefixes and suffixes and that it'll be tedious. Oh well. I'll see what I can get done tomorrow. :)

Sounds like what I want to do, actually, but I'd like to do research in either field. And thank you! But Turkish isn't exactly the easiest of languages. Plus you already have Spanish and Catalan. :)

Busy day, didn't get to do too much.

German - Lesson 22 of GWOT.

Indonesian - Learned Lesson 2 from Assimil. Reread Lesson 2 from TY. Reviewed what I learned yesterday from Lesson 6 of Linguaphone.

Russian - learned a decent amount of vocab. Reread lessons 6 in both Hugo and Penguin. Did the exercises from Penguin. The two Lesson 7's look like a lot of memorization. Possessives, accusative forms of possessives, prepositional forms of possessives, adjectives, accusative forms of adjectives, prepositional forms of adjectives, and a little bit of adverbs in Penguin... wow. It may take a while to learn all this. :D

I'll try to get a little more done tonight. Tomorrow may be another busy day outside of learning languages. :(

Busy again. Tomorrow I'll have more time and maybe I'll be productive for once!

German - Learned Lesson 23 from GWOT.

Indonesian - Learned Assimil Lesson 3. Worked through some Anki.

Russian - Learned about half of Lesson 7 from Penguin and Hugo. These endings aren't as bad as I thought, but it's still stuff to remember. Did some Anki. Edit: I got through the first lesson of MR1. There are 18 total. There's no way I can do one lesson a day. Maybe one or two per week until school starts, but the first lesson was mostly pronunciation and really basic stuff.

Oh, and I got my Modern Russian 1 book today. It definitely resembles FSI/DLI, but doesn't look nearly as boring. This is one textbook I think I'll enjoy.

German - Learned Lesson 24 from GWOT and worked on my school lesson.

Indonesian - Learned Assimil Lesson 4 and some of TY Lesson 3. Did some Anki.

Russian - Learned Lesson 2 from Modern Russian 1. Finished Lesson 7 of Hugo and Penguin. I'll have to do more review because I'm mixing up a few case endings. I'll probably do some online exercises in the nom/acc/prep cases later tonight after I finish the other stuff I'm doing. Will do some Anki later as well.

Decent day. Could've done more. But I need to get back to French and Spanish. I'm spending way too much time on Russian, but it's so interesting!
