German class: Had our midterm today. I feel I did really good on this one. I must say that if I didn't do the Michel Thomas German before, I probably would have had a little more trouble understanding the interesting German word order (which is quite fun to work with I must say). After the the test we started Kapitel 5 of our text book:2 hours 30 min
German Language lab: I am at around 29-30 hours at this point. I don't know why as I have already completed the required hours!: 2 hours
Re-did Michel Thomas German Advanced: Half of CD 2: 30 min
Total: 5 hours
Russian:
Class: We had our midterm as well. I feel I did really good on this one as well. There was a lot of writing to do which is good since I need practice on that :]: 1 hour 30 min
Russian language lab: At around 20 hours I believe (7 more to go!): 1 hour
Total: 2 hours 30 min

Had a nice encounter with a random Russian lady today. She asked me what the time was and while she was speaking I noticed her accent but what gave it away was when she responded 'Da' to a question. So I then asked her if she was Russian and of course she said yes. I told her that 'I speak Russian but not very good'. She asked if my parents where Russian because I had a 'really good' accent (I don't look Russian at all!). So when I told her I was Mexican she was surprised. She seemed excited to meet someone who was really interested in her language. Then she went on talking about how she tries to get her kids to learn it but they don't want to. The whole conversation she spoke Russian and I was surprised that I understood 80% of the conversation. She gave me some other Russian ladies number, for what reason? I don't know. I'm pretty sure she said she was a teacher so she was telling me to give her a call sometime if I want to have someone to practice Russian with.
It was cool and it reminded me why I have such love for Russian people. They are very friendly and wonderful people. I'm never afraid to make some sort of attempt to speak Russian to them because they are so helpful and kind! :]]
