I've been studying Hebrew and have decided to keep a journal to mark my progress. I also have a wealth of
other language learning materials I picked up at the library and used book stores to use when I fatigue from my
daily study of Hebrew and want to continue learning. So far, I've found Pimsleur to be an excellent resource to
structure my time around, and I'm also using "Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way" and the accompanying CDs to
practice reading, writing, and comprehension. I'm learning both Biblical and Modern Hebrew because they are
essentially the same language that focus on different subjects and have occasionally different grammatical
patterns.
Yesterday I finished:
Chapter 11 and 12 of "Prayerbook Hebrew..."
Lesson 19 and 20 of Pimsleur Hebrew 2
Today I finished:
Chapter 13 and 14 of "Prayerbook Hebrew"
Lesson 21 and 22 of Pimsleur Hebrew 2
I am also going to pick up a bunch of flash cards at the dollar store and start building a collection of vocabulary
words which I will study tomorrow.

I reviewed lesson 22 and 23 from Pimsleur Hebrew 2. I think I'm going to stop using "Hebrew with Pleasure" until I
finish Pimsleur Hebrew 2 next week. Hebrew 3 is not being released until July 2009 so I will have plenty of time to
catch up on grammar before I receive the next installment of Pimsleur. I feel as though Pimsleur is helping me
intuit some grammatical rules that otherwise may have left me confused.
I'm still going to continue with "Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way," as I'm essentially using it for "shadowing" at this
point to increase my reading skills. I highly recommend this book for others who are interested in learning Biblical
Hebrew and having the companion audio has been a lifesaver.

I got through lesson 25 of Pimsleur's Hebrew 2. I had to do it twice for some reason...
I also did lesson 5 of Pimsleur's French 1 while I was cleaning the house. Now I'm going to try to get through two
chapters of "Prayerbook Hebrew".

Oy I tried to finish two chapters but was only able to complete one before my head started to hurt. Tomorrow I will
finish Chapter 16 of Prayerbook Hebrew and keep going with Pimsleur.

Finished Chapter 17 in "Prayerbook"
I want to go back through it tonight and solidify one of the prayers that I'm still having trouble with. I've been
working on this book for several hours and I think the best thing to do at this point is get some fresh air and return
this evening.

I reviewed Chapter 17 of "Prayerbook" thoroughly and am halfway through Chapter 18. I finished Chapter 26 of
Pimsleur Hebrew 2 but had to repeat it a couple of times to solidify grammar. My ex-girlfriend, a native
speaker, has agreed to speak Hebrew with me over the phone and I'm hoping she doesn't lead me astray!
I'm really close to finishing Pimsleur Hebrew 2 and "Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way" so I'm quite motivated, but
am also encountering tons of new words and concepts and am not progressing as quickly as I'd like. I am
confident that I can finish these materials by this time next week as long as I keep pressing forward.
I seem to have difficultly studying Hebrew for more than two hours at a time, but want to get as much language
study in my day as possible. I've decided to start keeping track of all the languages I'm working on here, but
Hebrew is my main focus as it is the language I hope to acquire native fluency in...(I can dream, can't I?)
Hebrew
Pimsleur 2--lesson 26
Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way--middle of chapter 18
French
Pimsleur 1--lesson 11
Russian
Pimsleur 1--lesson 9 (probably need to repeat it)

I finished lesson 29 of Pimsleur's Hebrew 2. Tomorrow I will finish Pimsleur until the 3rd level comes out a month
and some change from now. I feel that if I really want to gain fluency in Hebrew I need to bring my learning up a
notch. I'm
going to spend at least an hour tonight practicing reading.
I'm not at the level where I can watch films without subtitles or understand radio broadcasts and this is where I
hope to be very soon. I've been trying to speak Hebrew with my ex-girlfriend and she says my Hebrew is awful,
which is true but I wish she'd sugar coat it a little. :)
I'm thinking of signing up with learnhebrewpod.com. I need a new program now that pimsleur and my prayerbook
courses will be finishing soon. I am slightly poor though and I was hoping to find some decent materials at the
library.
