Thanks. ^^
I haven't done so much today, apparently Rosetta Stone wants me to review older lessons after a while so I finished those. I did some regular lessons also and I'm now halfway through Unit 3 of 4 meaning I'm getting there. ;p I think after these four units I will finish the Michel Thomas basic course and begin the advanced and see how I like it. Eventually I can alternate between the two, Rosetta Stone and Michel Thomas.
Right now I'm really tired, my parents got home from their holidays this weekend and they don't share my passion for sleeping all day so I need to flip my sleeping rythm back to their definition of normal again. Going to bed now, I'll try to get more stuff done tomorrow.
Still also eagerly waiting for those Heisig books to show up at my door, hurry uuup!

9 out of 25ish lessons left of Unit 3 in Rosetta Stone, will hopefully finish it tonight. I feel like my Rosetta Stone progress is coming to a halt now. It was a great and encouraging introduction to the language, but I feel my time might be better spent elsewhere soon. I have decided to go back to Michel Thomas again, but I haven't decided when. At first I had planned to do that after I've finished all four units of Rosetta Stone, but now I'm considering to mix RS and MT after I've finished Unit 3. I reckon I'll do that. ;p Whatever I do, I mustn't get bored.
I got inspired after reading the Pimsleur in the car thread somewhere around here and decided I'd try that as well. I don't drive so much right now, I work as much as the lousy economy of this world permits me and right now that's 2-4 days a week. The drive is 15-20 minutes though so if I drive a little slowly that's one lesson each way. ;p
I had originally planned to drop the Pimsleur series seeing as they bored me to death, but this method appeals to me. I tried it today as I went to get a passport photo for my student ID next year. First impression - woo! I think this is perfect. The numerous repetitions, the slowness of it all, everything fits perfectly for an attention-consuming activity like driving. If I was to use Michel Thomas in the car I think I'd hit a post or something seeing as it requires so much attention, but Pimsleur seems perfect. I can just turn it off if I get in a demanding situation anyhow.
The only problem is my car won't play mp3-files so I have to burn it on multiple CDs, currently two lessons per CD. Blargh, this will be a lot of CDs. Oh well. ;p
Also I remember posting in an early post I didn't know the logic behind "so desu ne". I do now. ^^ Finished lesson two of Pimsleur, it's time well spent when I'm driving anyways.
Still impatiently waiting for my Heisig books to arrive. I'm also considerin purchasing this book, would anyone here happen to have any experience with it?
Seeing as the book is grammar grammar grammar I don't think I need all of it right now, but wa/ga is confusing me already and it promises to "fix that", the rest will surely be useful for later.

こんにちわ!へんりくです!
My Heisig books arrived early in the mail today! I was so excited to see them a full 12 days before their estimated delivery! It didn't take long before I embarked on my journey into the craziness that is hirigana, and it's going very well so far. I've done the two first lessons in Remembering the Kana and I really have to control myself so I don't do more right away.
The lessons are going quite alright. The first one I found myself doing it slightly too fast, so I had to skim through the pages a second time after completing it before it stuck. Now I got it under control though. The second lesson had no review after it, but I feel I got it decently under control as well.
I had a little breakthrough though - I can now write my name in hirigana! Woo! ;)
I'm Henrik!
へんりくです!
Also completed lesson 3 of Pimsleur while driving today. It's going alright. What I enjoy is that the three courses I'm currently doing - Pimsleur, Michel Thomas and Rosetta Stone - all give me different vocabulary. Neither of them have taught me the same thing twice, so I think I got a good mix here.
Will complete more lessons in Michel Thomas and Rosetta Stone later this evening. I think I need to set up a studying goal for each day with the number of lesssons/time spent in each of the courses per day so I keep up the pace.

Seeing as you have just started learning, perhaps you do not know this. こんにちは is spelt with the は letter even though it is pronounced as a わ. Just a small pointer! Good luck with it!

Ah, that's me going too fast. Thanks for the correction! :)
Looks like we got a bloody thunderstorm going on here right now, I need to unplug my computer. Bah, I had just started with my RS studies today, not even looked at today's MT. I'll see if I can do some hirigana instead.

Although it is worth mentioning that こんにちわ is sometimes used and quite acceptable in informal situations as an intentional misspelling of こんにちは.
Also Henrik (I hope you don't mind me calling you this), sorry to nitpick but please note the romaji spelling of 'hiragana' (ひらがな), it is not 'hirigana'.
Sorry to nitpick! It's great to see you are so excited!

Nitpicking is very welcome, thanks! :)
Finished another lesson of hirAgana yesterday before I went to bed, hopefully I'll be able to complete all the lessons today so I can get started on katakana tomorrow. Also I should really get some RS+MT done. I liked what I saw of the first core lesson of RS before nature's wrath descended on my studies (thunderstorm), I'll continue on that later toady.
