BONVENU! (WELCOME!)

This thread is for anybody studying Esperanto regularly or sporadically who does not want to keep his/her own Esperanto log.

Come to this thread and report your progress or ask a question!
Any pace of studying is fine and all levels of speakers are welcome.

Please share your progress (however modest) your opinions, great online resources, findings and milestones with others who like Esperanto.

I have signed up on LERNU.NET and my nick is "neopennia". I haven't logged in for a while so I'll go there now, to see if anybody has sent me a friend-request. (Please feel free to friend me, or share your LERNU user name in this thread!)

Last time I visited LERNU about a fortnight ago, I noticed that it was possible to change the site language into a flawless version of Swedish, which I appreciated. Most major languages seemed to be available too.

I did a few basic courses and learnt how to greet people in Esperanto. LERNU is awesome, and in case you didn't know, it's the premier Esperanto learning site online, completely free.

So far Esperanto seems super-easy. All words are of either Romance or Germanic origin, occassionally some Slavic influence. The words are easy to recognise or remember.

Sure, the language is artificial and perhaps not as beautiful, eccentric or exotic as a "real" languages. But for what it tries to be, it's a beautiful creation. The logic of it speaks to a techy geek like me. There is no doubt that this is a language you can have everyday conversations in, write litterature in, or even debate a political issue if you are so inclined.

Here is a message from Sprachprofi, posted in another thread. I am copying it here
since many might enjoy this experience:

]In case you're interested, I'm hosting a series of conversational Esperanto classes for beginners and upper beginners starting next week: http://edufire.com/classes/6006-let-s-learn-esperanto-by-tal king . It's every other day actually, but you can pick and choose the sessions that you want to participate in; it's informal.

Note that this class is part of Edufire's SuperPass program, which is like an all-you-can-eat buffet of language classes. To beat the system, you could sign up for the SuperPass trial ($1 for one week), take four Esperanto classes that week and then unsubscribe before they start billing you $29 per month. Just an idea, not suggesting you do that ;-) .

EDIT: Thanks to the three people who friended me on Lernu and sent postcards! I hope that you'll keep your interest alive and that more will become interested in Esperanto, the FAIR, EQUAL AND EASY WORLD language for people across the world.
