For English speakers the Russian language is a category 3 language, which is how the DLI
describes the difficulty. French and Spanish are category 1, German is category 2, and
Arabic, Mandarin, and Cantonese are category 4.
Having studied the language for the past year with a native speaker, I have to say that
for me the cases (for both nouns and adjectives) as well as the verbs of motion, with
prefixes, are the two most difficult parts of the grammar.
