My sincere apologies if this topic has already been discussed.

Does anyone know of any comparisons of the border languages/dialects of the Iberian
Peninsula and South America? For example, consider first Europe. We have Spanish; we have
Portuguese; but we also have Galician - very close to Portuguese with Spanish influence.
There are also languages/dialects in a similar situation, such as Fala and Extremaduran.
Now, consider the Riverense Portuñol/Riverense Portunhol (Fronterizo/Fronteiriço), spoken
on the border between Uruguay and Brazil.

How closely do these border languages/dialects mimic each other when comparing the two
distinct borders?
