How do you close the language bar on Windows XP so that it doesn't start up every time
you turn on the computer?
Then how would you turn it on again?
I am so scared of that language bar because I used it for Japanese on my last computer
and never got rid of all the "yen signs" all over in all URL's.
So I'm not using it for Japanese, just other languages.
I went to the URL which Ectaco offered me, but it doesn't help.
I already have Estonian in there, but it won't switch between languages when I hit
alt+shift.

You can set hot keys for CTRL+1, CTRL+2, etc. for setting languages if ALT+SHIFT is not
working.

How do you do that?
Can you be more specific?

And the language bar started up again, though I closed it last night.
I also went to Run=>msconfig=>startup and took out itunes.
That didn't stop the language bar.

I understand it now.
I was using the shift from right side of keyboard and only left will work.
Also, the only way to really "disable" the language bar is to go in to the control panel.
I found that this URL helped also:
