Totally random post that won't help anyone: does anyone else happen to think spoken Dutch sounds incredibly beautiful? I can't figure out what it is, but I find it incredibly mesmerizing. Much more so than Italian, or Spanish, or French, or Mandarin, or any of the other so called "beautiful" languages. When I hear it, it sounds so slick, so clean, and for some reason like every word in the sentence is building momentum towards the end of it. I think it's just gorgeous.
Am I alone?

I don't know if I would say it's beautiful (it's not really my type), but to me it sounds like some dialect of British English. Every time I hear Dutch, I always feel like if I just listened harder I would find that I understand it (which is of course not the case).

I don't particularly like the sound of Dutch, but it takes different strokes to move the world, yes it does.

Having learned German first, Dutch to me just looks like messed up German...but my physics TA said once that he wants to learn Dutch because he loves the way the girls sound when they speak it...So you're definitely not alone. :)

Dutch is next on my list of languages to learn purely because I love the sound of it =D.
There's something about the accent that I find really familiar, but really exotic at the same time.
