“Deutschland” book from Narita Airport
Page 6: 1) Herzlichen Dank für Ihre Hilfe. Why does Ihr have an -e ending? 2) Einen schönen Tag. Do ein and schoen both follow the same endings patterns? Page 7: 1) Wie läufts? In what situations can this be used? 2) Tagchen! Is this appropriate to use with Siezen people? Page 8: 1) Kann ich Ihnen helfen? Is it Ihnen because helfen is a dative verb? 2) Jawohl. What situations call for jawohl? 3) Schreiben Sie es bitte auf. How to distinguish between auf and hier? When is auf used? Page 9: 1) Darf ich Sie etwas fragen? Why is Sie used and not Ihnen? Page 12: 1) Lasst uns etwas trinken! Is there another way to say this? 2) Ich ruf dich an. My book said that this means I will call you, but it doesn't use future tense construction. Page 6:
1) Ok so Ihre has an -e ending because Hilfe is feminine 2) in this case yes they do have the same endings (accusative, masculine) Page 7: 1)It can be used if you're saying like hey whats up, hows it going, what are you doing that kind of thing 2)I'm not familiar with the Siezen people Page 8: 1)yes it is there are quite a few dative verbs in German. 2)if you need to say YES OF COURSE 3)auf if you're writing on something, hier if you're pointing to something Page 9: 1)because it's accusative case Page 12: 1)Not that I know of 2)YES this means I will call you, technically you could say ich werde dich anrufen if you had to use future tense. Well, I wouldn't call it inappropriate but it sounds pretty goofy to me.
