The American Foreign Service Institute courses, which are wonderful means for learning any language, are now on the internet free of charge. In the United States, government documents cannot be copyrighted and are available for anyone to copy, and these courses are government documents. Someone is putting first the books, then the sound recordings, on the web. Go to http://www.fsi-language-courses.org/Content.php and try them out. At first, our computers did not receive the sound clearly, but someone here or there remedied it and now the sound is fine. The site is not maintained by the American government, but by private citizens.

You had become a member almost two years ago. Did you not know about the FSI site all this time?

Before the creation of fsi-language-courses.com and .org, the only effectively free option was to get them at the library.
