I was just curious because my neighbors are from Sicily and they invited me to go to Sicily with them this summer=) I already know a little(very basic) Italian from them because I've been their neighbors since I was three. Is there any quick ways to learn on my own in addition to them teaching me.

Can I trust the other sellers on amazon? I realize probably, but have you had personal experience with them?

I look at there positive feedback. Most of the large sellers will have thousands of

Now I´m not worried about the book. I was worried that the CD´s wouldn´t come with it.

I bought Italian With Ease with the CDs from Amazon. The price they are selling it at is very good and amazon is very reliable so I would just order it from them. Plus, the shipping is free.
There is a Sicilian dialect which is quite different from standard Italian, different enough that some people consider it a different language. Like most dialects in Italy though the dialect is moving closer to standard Italian. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I agree. Also, you may considered that mostly of the native Italian speakers (today) doesn't understand very well the meaning of a lot of words spoken in dialect. The composer Fabrizio De André did in 1984 an album entitled " Crêuza de mä " that is all spoken in genovese dialect. Few persons (maybe no one) can barely understand what he's singing without read the lyrics translated. Even the movie " Gomorra " (2008) is spoken in strictly napoletano's dialect. There were subtitles even for us Italians, in the cinema ! 1 person has voted this message useful |
