I'll have to learn 1-2 other Romance langs, to form an objective opinion on the difficulty...

I think that you may have mistyped something. First you said,"I think that NO language is difficult." Later you said, "French is difficult because...".

Perhaps what you meant was that all forgein language learning is difficult? Then French especially so because of it's oddities and exceptions. Many of which are the result of French coming into contact with other languages and cultures around the world.

Anyway, your post confused me a bit. I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
