S 8 marta! (International Women's Day in several countries, including Russia...a bit like Valentine's and Mother's Day all wrapped into one.)
Wishing the very best to all our female language learners out there today :)

It seems to me that there are more women than men on here but I don't think I could
hasard a guess by how much.

I wonder if a census is possible. Maybe a series of polls?

I have participated for a while and I think women are in slight majority.
I think women are generally in majority when it comes to language studies, although (surprise, surprise) the top polyglots are men. Supposedly female brains are slightly better wired for language learning according to some researches of the brain. Here in England this is often mentioned as an "excuse" for why female students outperforms male students at some national exams (can't recall the exact details, but I've come across this several times).
My gender is clear from my user name and I preferred it that way at the time I signed up. But at times it can be nice to contribute without any "labels" or boxing in of who you are etc.
A fair number of people also don't reveal where they come from in their profile, possibly for the same reason.
HAPPY INT'L WOMENS DAY EVERYONE!!!

It should. Stupid characters, all look the same (at last at night and when you're in a hurry!) ;)
