I second kyssäkaali's thought that you're Australian, based on your pronunciation of "whether".

Either British or Australian, from the way you speak English.

I don't any Cantonese, and very little French so I'll just comment on your English. My guess is that you are from either Australia or maybe New Zealand.

NOT New Zealand, unless you've been out of the country for a good while, or you are a Kiwi radio announcer (who all seem to sound like Australians IMHO).
You do say "speak", "accent" and "speaking" like a Kiwi, but most of your English, excepting at the start which sounds a bit British, would fit in here in Oz, so I'm going for Aussie, with a bit of disguise thrown in!
;-)

Thank you all. I'm born in Australia. My friends have told me that my accent has changed since living in Hong Kong for a long while now.
I have immigrant parents who have thick home country accents for which I assumed would still be prevalent in my own speech.
I guess I could have done the "g'day mate... that's noice, How 'bout I slip another shrimp on the barbie for ya" type voice, but sounds kind of tryhard. In addition, I think I used to have a "woggy" type accent back in the day since my father and friends are from Croatia.
I also used to slur and join all my words together back in Australia. Though I found when I first came to Hong Kong and when forced to speak to non-English natives or other foreigners, I had to adjust to a clear and articulated voice otherwise I couldn't be understood.
Anyway, thanks. Its good to know if people can really tell accents when one's face doesn't match their supposed accent based on appearance.

At times I have also been asked where I come from. I don't look any different to the average Australian, but every now and then people seem to think I have an accent of some description - although nobody has ever said where they "think" I come from! LOL
I personally think that I sound do different to everyone else! HAHA
