Thanks Paskwc and DaraghM for your replies.
Just wondering, DaraghM, why would you think Assimil might be my best choice, since I gather from your post that FSI seems more thorough? |

Paskwc is right in assuming that I think FSI might be a bit tedious for yourself. The reason I thought this is you all ready speak four languages, and you probably can pick them up quickly. A lot of people find the FSI drills tedious. Personally, my learning style has adapted to appreciate them.
There's also a bit of a misunderstanding as to what the drills are like. A number of people assume the progressive substitution drill simply involves replacing a word in a sentence, and the rest of the sentence is unchanged. This isn't quite true, as you need to focus on the elements of the sentence.
E.g.
Spanish:
Sentence:A mí me gusta la taza. - I like the cup
Prompt: él - He
Sentence: A él le gusta la taza. - He likes the cup
Prompt: zapatos - shoes
Sentence: A él le gustan los zapatos. - He likes the shoes.
I find these useful, as well as the transformation drills. The transformation drills usually involve changes in tense, case or number.
E.g.
Russian:
Prompt: Я вас вижу - I see you.
Sentence: Я вас видел - I saw you.
Prompt: Онa вас видит - She sees you
Sentence: Онa вас видела - She saw you.
[Note: Please let me know if I've any errors in the Russian or Spanish]

Thanks DaraghM, I understand now. Actually I like drills when learning a language. That's how I was taught Russian. I spent hours on end doing grammar exercices and I loved it!
Since Hebrew is a completely new language for me, I think FSI will be just right for me.
The Spanish seems correct to me (but you shouldn't trust me on my Spanish yet), the Russian is correct. Molodets ;-).
