What are typical sentences in a language book in different languages?
Hindi (and any Indian language)
Auntie and Uncle have come for a visit and are drinking tea.
Russian

My Georgian textbook includes this memorable sentence:
"That foreign woman was in the fish shop yesterday."
Oh, the times I've needed to say that exact sentence but been stuck for words...
Years ago I heard a song on the radio that had lyrics taken word for word from an old Spanish textbook. It was actually a really beautiful song but I can't remember the singer or the title. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd love to hear it again.

I did find an actual WORD in a Bengali dictionary for a disciple who runs off with his guru's wife!!
