I do two things to keep my 'old' languages alive: The first trick is to force myself to think in those languages, for instance when I'm walking in the street or watching TV or eating. It is amazing how much time you can gain by directing your thought in those situations towards the languages you know well enough for the task. The second is to get around my languages on a regular basis, - ten minutes here and there every or every day are more efficient than an hour once a week. I also write a few phrases or a word lists as often as possible in every language. Most of this activity can't be seen in my log here, but I also use that as instrument to keep my languages alive and happy. And finally I have made a number of short trips to places where I could speak a certain language. You need more concentrated effort to learn new languages, but once you have passed the initial stage you are better served with short breaks in the languages than wit rare and long sessions.
