Hey there. Can anyone recommend Portuguese books or software for Spanish speakers?

Here are some books I'm thinking of purchasing:
Portugues Via Brasil: Um Curso Avancado Para Estrangeiros Livro Aluno
Com Licença!: Brazilian Portuguese for Spanish Speakers
Pois não: Brazilian Portuguese Course for Spanish Speakers, with Basic Reference Grammar

Have any Spanish speakers had success with learning Portuguese from books or software alone?

Thanks.

MegatronFilm,

Is Brazilian Portuguese the only one you are interested in knowing resources for?

I am open to both Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese from Portugal. There just seems to be more resources for
Brazilian Portuguese. I think both sound great but I do like the Portuguese from Portugal a little bit more.

Regarding the last question in your original post ...... Yes ...... I learned Portuguese grammar with the help of a little book (from Larousse) and by watching TV, listening to music and reading some comics ....... some time later I finally got the chance to speak (on a regular basis) to people from Brazil and I had no problems at all .... and hey, I even got some compliments from them =)

Take care and good luck with your Portuguese studies!!!

Well then, of course the only one I am aware of that are Spanish based with cds and books for Portuguese de Portugal are from ASSIMIL'S El Nuevo Portugués Sin Esfuerzo and CURSO PONS Portugués. Assimil and PONS are from Europe, so they tend to do the European variety of dialects first.

First, I would read this book for free:
From Spanish to Portuugese

Then, I would study this excellent textbook (you can get a used copy for $6):
Brasil - Lingua - Cultura Textbook

Then, I would definitely read Pois Nao (for more advanced learners) because it is one of the best books available (even if you do not speak Spanish)

Besides Pois Nao, this another MUST HAVE book for Portuguese learners:
Modern Portuguese
