Hello, this question pertains to the 2009 edition of Living Language: Ultimate Arabic, the one with the food on the
cover. I'm wondering if anyone has purchased the new edition of the Living Language: Ultimate Arabic series.

Can anyone compare it to the previous version? Does it have more content than the previous edition? Are the
dialogues different from the previous version.
Thank you.

I cannot answer your question but I had a similar problem with Ultimate Japanese a few years ago. I owned the audio recordings of the old edition (which was out of print) and wanted to buy a copy of the text.
I had not choice but to purchase the paperback in the new edition, and the dialogues were exactly the same.
A new edition of the Ultimate series generally comes out every five years; however I suspect that they don't revise their products in a significant way. Maybe they change covers and layout a bit, maybe they improve translations and explanations, but I suppose the dialogues are always the same, also because those dialogues are still more than up-to-date.
I cannot say for sure that the previous edition of Ultimate Arabic is more or less the same as that of 2009; however, consider that the former was released only in 2006. Could it have been updated that much? Besides, if you compare the number of pages in the two versions, you'll see that they are equal.
The only important change I could appreciate in the new edition is that they added an extra CDROM, which contains flashcards and, as far as I can understand, it is a kind of bonus, quite indipendent from the rest of the course.
Just my two cents. I wish I knew more.
