Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a "chain" to delete the first minute off a set of MP3. I don't see a chain within the program for deleting specific time frames. I want to delete the first minute or so off all my languagepod101.com mp3s.

I have been marking sections, cutting out the marked sections, and converting to mp3 myself lately--taking Pimsleur lessons and chopping out the phrases I then will import into Supermemo.

Since this is a lot of repetitive work, I figured out how to do it with a macro program called AutoHotKey (free, open-source). Now...you'll have a little learning curve in using it, but it comes with something called AutoScript which you can just start and it will more or less record what you are doing, and you can then turn it into a script for AutoHotKey.

Point being, you could automate 1) opening File #1 in Audacity; 2) Chopping out the first minute; 3) Saving edited file with new name to new folder; 4) Opening File #2, 5) Rinse and repeat...

Yeah I hear you, it's much more efficient to compress sound file a bit. Thank you for the advice.
