Wow, they don't give you much room in the subject field here. I tried to fit "Has anyone tried "Pronounce it Perfectly in ___"? but it wouldn't even come close to fitting.

Anyway, has anyone used these? I did a search for "pronounce it perfectly in" but it said "no results returned."

Are they good programs for accent reduction in your target language?

Thanks.

edit - is the search function broken? I searched for "Pronounce perfectly" again after I made this thread and it still said "no results." Hmm...

I seem to remember that I tried it out for Japanese, and that it didn't do much. I may be confusing it with something similar sounding. Perhaps you can try it out before you buy it.

I'm working with their French CDs. It's a decent 3 disk package with native speakers and good examples. My only criticism is my peevishness about having unnecessary English on a language learning audio program.

There was a Pronounce it Perfectly in Japanese sold by Barron's in the 90's, but unless it has been recently updated, I would not recommend it.

That's the one I was interested in. Why wouldn't you recommend it?

They need to make a Korean one. Korean pronunciation still kills me.

I have Pronounce it Perfectly in Russian. I haven't used it yet. I had a similar program from Russia but couldn't play the cassettes so I got this one. My hard and soft L still need work and it won't hurt for me to practise all the sounds.

I also have Pronounce It Perfectly in Russian. I've heard very good reviews about it but have not begun to use it. I plan to after a get a good base of knowledge first. It is widely available on p2p resources.

It's not a criticism of the program, it's just there are so many programs coming out of Japan right now that I don't see any reason to spend time with it. If you have it already or can get it for cheap though, by all means.

I'm thinking about jumping back into Japanese. What programs coming out of Japan are good right now??

Thanks!
