I very much agree with Rmss. Too much grammar at the beginning of your studies will, ultimately, end your studies.
It isn't until you have built up a large amount of vocabulary will you be able to find that the study of grammar is easier. This is all in my experience and it is working for me.

Honestly, I had not considered the negative consequences of a heavy emphasis on grammar this early. Your comments and Rmss' are greatly appreciated.

Schaum's is great.
Schaum's Spanish Grammar (look it up on Amazon)
You could also use Living Language Ultimate Spanish, but it can be REALLY boring. There is also a book called Spanish Verb Tenses. It's green (the only feature I remember about it). It helps you with the biggest part of Spanish grammar: Verbs. There are a LOT of good Spanish learning materials out there and they're not too hard to find. Just make sure you get one with lots of exercises and good reviews. |

The "green verb book" is probably part of the Practice Makes Perfect Spanish series. I would suggest you consider this series. There is one on verb tenses, one on grammar, and one on prepositions and pronouns. There are others but these are great starting points.

I studied Spanish grammar heavily in my first year in college and it sucked. Now, I didn't find it boring; I found it extremely interesting. But at the end of the year I couldn't even string together a normal sentence, which caused me to want to quit learning Spanish.
But then I put emphasis on getting input and didn't do any grammar study at all (except for some classes in college, which I mostly avoided), and started doing some grammar study again this year to perfectionate my skills. Now, studying grammar after you learned how to speak and only when you understand pretty much everything is just so much easier, and above all; it actually helps you (like I said before).
Studying grammar isn't bad, but just be sure to not do it in the beginning if you want to enjoy your learning experience and actually get fluent.
