I saw this program adverised for sale on E-bay and found all the audio and pdf files for free on the internet.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page for links to the Iraqi Arabic mp3 and PDF files. There are also mp3 and PDF files for the Kurdish language.
At the top of the page, there is also a link to a Non-Linguist's Background on the Arabic Language.
Tactical Iraqi Arabic Program
Tactical Iraqi Arabic for Marine Expeditionary Forces learning program.
Published by the United Stated Marine Corps in 2005.
Media Count: 20 Lessons + additional misc. language training files (About 10 HOURS) on CD and 100+ pages of language training overview text on CD.
Total Audio Running Time: Approximately 10 HOURS
Date: 2005
Purpose
The central purpose of this language tool is to assist Marines to understand the basics of what is being said to them, and to convey meaning in the Arabic words and phrases they will know. It is designed with the realization that often, one need only understand 60% of what a foreign language speaker is saying in order to grasp his main intent.
Further, some of what is presented here is, in grammatical terms, technically not entirely correct. This has been a conscious choice, in order to favor the quick, efficient, easy-to-pronounce method that is still comprehensible to a native Arabic speaker.

Thanks for the link! Arabic is not a language I'm particularly interested in learning but learning a few basic phrases would be fun. :)

Thanks for the link. It's always useful to add to the neverending list of Arabic resources I seem to be accumulating.

It's not quite number 1 on my list of places to visit, I must say. ;)
One particular phrase that took me by surprise was in the medical terms file : 'Is this ambulance a car bomb?'

This reminds me of "Our postillion has been struck by lightning" - reputedly from an old french - english phrasebook & immortalised in the title of Dirk Bogarde's autobiography.
But i think it goes one better (although it's unfortunately probably likely to be used in practice than the postillion phrase...)

A small commercial plug: The US Marine Corps and the US Army have shifted their learning of Iraqi's form of Arabic from these basic tools to the videogame-based Tactical Language & Culture Training System, which was developed under funding by the Marines and the Army. The course will be available to non-military organizations and individuals in December.

I see that 'tactical pashto' is coming soon. But 'tactical french'? Is there something the people of france should know??? :s
(anyway, at USD375 for individuals, these courses would have to be very good to compete with existing resources...)

Not France French but sub-Saharan Africa French. The US Armed Forces have many friendly cooperative relationships in that region, and better inter-personal communications is an important factor that contributes to their success.
